A further fart in church

So, fresh from the Libya disaster - six months of a no-fly zone producing anarchy - the same crowd is now enthusiastic about some kind of UN Security Council Resolution on Syria.

Recalling, the original Resolution 1970, passed 15-0, that referred certain members of the Libyan regime to the ICC while establishing economic and other sanctions in accordance with Chapter VII of the UN Charter;

Recalling also the subsequent Resolution 1973, that passed 10-0 with 5 abstentions; that established a no-fly, free-fire, make-of-it-what-you-will, zone in Libya;

Affirming the right of all peoples to elect their own governments without fear of being shot;

Decides under Chapter VII to make growly noises at the Syrian regime without prospect of anything else occurring because the Russians have a naval base in Syria, which isn't all that different from the Americans having a naval base in Cuba or the UK having one in Gibraltar.
